You'll be welcomed with a traditional coffee at Dalia (a women's cultural collective coffee shop), before walking to the Xochimilco farmers' market to choose fresh vegetables for lunch.
You'll learn about local and ancient traditions while cooking a local delicacy together in a traditional boat in Xochimilco's idyllic canals.
We'll then take a bike taxi from the markets to the pier with access to the natural reserve, which is perfect for appreciating the landscape and its flora and fauna.
You'll hear stories of the history, symbolism, and meaning of the guide's clothing, as well as some regional legends, myths and traditions.
Before ending the journey, we'll visit an Axolotl sanctuary. Axolotls are Xochimilco's local salamanders and are an endangered species. They're also used in scientific research as they're able to regenerate their limbs, gills and brain.
Finally, we'll wrap up the tour with a "Doritos" toast (fruit juice with mezcal), finishing up at Dalia.
